In Memorium: Bob Schmidt

Bob Schmidt
Bob Schmidt 1941-2014

Those of you who were blessed enough to know Bob through his many years with the MS Snowmobile Tour know what a truly remarkable man he was, and what a true champion he has been for the MS movement. He first got involved with the tour because it combined two of his passions – helping others and snowmobiling. He returned year after year, volunteering as a guide, growing his own team of riders and steadily generating donations until he reached his personal goal of raising $1 million for the National MS Society. His cancer treatments kept him from joining the tour last year and prevented him from traveling to the Society’s National Leadership Conference, where we had hoped to honor him with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his unwavering commitment and dedication.

Bob celebrated his 73rd birthday in March. We join the family in mourning the loss of a man who meant so much to so many, and who lived a life dedicated to putting others first. A memorial fund has been set up in Bob’s name.
